I am soooooo late with this!!! I cannot believe this week got away without me posting this.
I have been trying for months to get a contractor to come pour a concrete patio and add an Arizona room off the back of my house.
I finally got someone to show up and it has taken him a week to do the framework for the patio. I have been so stressed it has been hard to keep up with the other side of my lfe: scrapping. lol Keep me in your prayers this week that I will not go all pregnant angry woman on this poor guy.

I have found myself suddenly addicted to the simple page. One with more focus on the photo and the journaling. I know not all people enjoy these kinds of templates but I thought I would offer one to you today. It has shadows on separate layers that are bent a little. Those can be removed and your own shadows added. All the layers are adjustable just the same as a regular template. I would love to hear some feedback on if you would like to see more like this or if I should stick to my other style. :) Enjoy!

Photo Book Quick Pages

I was sitting down to start putting the kids Blurb book together the other day and it dawned on me. It would be so much easier to make a book that was uniform if I used one paper and made quick pages out of the templates. Hence the QP album is born. Now all you need to do is drop your photos behind and add journaling, dates or your favorite word art. You can even add an element or two that matches the theme of the page.

Here is one of this years pages I have made for my own book.

Some of the pages can be a little tricky to stick the photos in. My trick is to select the "hole" and add another layer behind the QP to clip your photo to. That way your photo is adjustable, fits the size of that particualr "hole" and you have perfect results every time.

Thank you all for your well wishes as I seek to find a wellness that has somehow eluded me since the Christmas holidays. I have had a cold for 6 weeks or more out of the last 2 1/2 months. It has just worn me down to where I had no energy to create. I took some time to work for my two CT's and some layouts for other designers in hopes that my creativity would find it's way back to me. Unfortunately that did not happen. I have decided to scale back to one store and the two CT's. I will still be selling at www.scrapmatters.com but have made the decision to leave ESS for now. I have two kits in the making and one of them is nearly finished. I will leave you updates on that and hopefully a freebie soon. Thank you again. :)

Burger King!!! and the daily download

I have to tell you just how small our town is. We just now got a Burger King in. It opened this afternoon for lunch. I think every car in town was parked along the street, in the parking lot and down the street on the other side. We are all so tired of McDonald's and Sonic. lol I wish I had taken my camera when I went to pick up Kale from school. The really funny part is that not one hour after it opened there were two ambulances and a couple of cop cars there. I am thinking someone started a fight over the long line or something. I was busting up and had to call my DH to ask him to call his friends from the police dept to find out what happened. I am waiting for him to call me at tell me. I am still laughing a little over the whole thing.

Template Question Answered and a Challenge

I had a very good question from Janet in the comments from the free template.

I'm pretty sure that after 365 pictures and a couple of years later I'm going to be wondering why I thought that pic was significant. I think this photo page is perfect, so I'm thinking a double-pager with journaling on the 2nd page will compliment it well.}

The answer is YES, most definitely. Since I am using these myself and intend to make photo books for the family when the year is done, I will certainly be needing some journaling. I will be making these in a two page format that will allow for journaling on the second page. Now that journaling will have to be for 14 photos (2 weeks worth) but I will leave a lot of room. You can always move things around a little to accommodate for more journaling. For me, a couple lines of journaling will do and a lot of my photos tend to speak for themselves. I will try to remember the more journaling prone folks in the following templates as well. :) I can always rearrange my own pages for my lack of journaling. lol I don't really like my way of writing things so I don't tend to put a lot on my pages. Something I need to learn to do. I really need to find a book to help me break my journaling slump.

Ok, on to the challenge. I would like for you to use this template to create a page with your week one photos (or any photos you would like) and leave me a link in the comments. Week one layout (and a freebie)

I decided to make my first week page for my Project 365 today.

kit used is Quirky Crow by Polka Dot Plum
Then I decided to make a template, and then the matching word art. Now I have a full set of weekly templates for Project 365 in the works. It will come with layered templates, word art for each week, a set of neutral tags and journal blocks, an alpha or two and a set of numbers and characters. I intend to work on one month at a time so you may get all of the above for each month. I have not decided yet. January's set will be available at both www.scrapmatters.com and www.enchantedstudioscraps.com after the 15th. Stay tuned to my design blog (link in sidebar) for news.
